Dealer’s Perception

·         The market was on a rebound today as the NSE All-Share Index  picked up 116bps.

·         Top tier banks were favourites in the banking sector with Zenith Bank leading the pack, recording a 3.9% mark-up, as demand surged during the session. UBA and First Bank followed closely booking 2.1% and 1.7% respectively. GTBank however hit resistance at N17.40 and inched up with less than 1.0%.

·         Dangote Cement rallied today, inching up 3.5% as current price appeared to spur demand; also on the up-tick in the sector was Ashaka Cement with a 0.2% gain. On the flip side, CCNN shed full points while Lafarge Wapco lost less than 1.0%. Demand for Lafarge Wapco however remains strong and could revert this loss tomorrow.

·         Fringe players Portland Paints, Livestock Feeds, DN Meyer and R.T. Briscoe were on the up-tick today, booking gains in excess of 4.0% apiece.
